Our Wildcats adore Ylvis’ What Does the Fox Say? Lucky for us, Athens- Clarke County Library had the picture book! This last week, after our lessons (we’ve been learning about Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and how Christmas is celebrated in Mexico- with posadas!) we have read the book, then had a dance party. Fun for everyone! Check out the two videos below. (Ms. Kaitlin made the second one).
Last week, Wildcat parent Robin Grundstein shared a Hanukkah story and activity with our 1st grade. We made dreidls with marshmallows, pretzels, and kisses. Super yum!
Yesterday our 3rd grade had a special screening of Polar Express in the library. Ms. Kaitlin, Ms. Jennifer, and I made everyone hot chocolate. Fun!
The sad thing about the semester ending is that we are bidding farewell to some fabulous interns. This week we said goodbye to Ms. Caitlin Clark, Ms. Jennifer, and Mr. Thaxton. We hope they visit soon! Lucky us, Ms. Alex and Ms. Kaitlin Taylor are staying on.
Lastly, we have SO MANY READING ROCK STARS this month- way to go! 181 wildcats are eligible for the Reading Rock Star Cupcake Party, which will be held the afternoon of January 9. Our students had to turn in three or more logs to be eligible for this event- I’m super proud of their hard work!
Parents, if you would like to volunteer at our celebration and/ or provide cupcakes and decorating supplies, please email Ms. Sugiuchi at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hope you have a fabulous holiday. Happy Reading!
